Income Statement: Income Lines
The income statement shows operating income by service, the commission charged on cash on delivery, and any income recorded on the organization's income accounts.
What You Can Do
- Read operating income by service: Envia, LTL, FTL, Partners and COD commission
- Record income on an income account (operating income) or an other income account (other income)
- Adjust a service or an account for a period from its own row
- Read income accounts grouped under their parent accounts, like the expense sections
Getting There
Navigate to Finance > Income Statement. The statement opens collapsed: you see the sections and the first level of each one. Expand a header to see what is under it.
It opens collapsed again whenever you change a filter (organization, basis, period, dates, service and so on). Saving a manual entry keeps what you had open.
Common Tasks
Record income on an account
- Click + on the Operating income header (or Other income)
- Pick the date, the account, and the amount with and without taxes
- Add a description and save
Only accounts of that section are listed: income accounts in operating income, other income accounts in other income. The line appears after the services, under its parent account, marked Manual.
TIP
If the list is empty, the organization has no active accounts of that type. Sync them from Finance > Organizations > Accounts.
Adjust a service or an account for one period
Click the edit icon on the period cell of the row. The form opens on that service or account already selected; you only enter the amounts.
Record an expense
The + of each expense section works the same way and only lists accounts of that section: expense accounts in operating expenses, cost of goods sold accounts in cost of goods sold, other expense accounts in other expenses.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is COD commission?
What we charge on cash-on-delivery shipments. It is counted the day the shipment is delivered, in both accrual and cash, and it is added on top of the other services: Envia, LTL, FTL and Partners keep their amounts.
Where did Fulfillment go?
It is no longer calculated, because it was always zero. Fulfillment income is now recorded on its income account. The Fulfillment row still shows in periods that have manual entries on it, and those entries can still be edited or removed. It is not in the service filter any more.
Why can I not pick an income account from the expenses "+"?
Because the line would be counted as an expense. Each section only accepts accounts of its own type, both in the form and on the server.
I saved an entry and the statement did not change
